Our client has established itself as a major supplier of specialty chemicals in Florida and the US Gulf. They play a significant role in the distribution of their product not only as a buyer and seller but also through exchange agreements, which result in important freight savings to the industry and the buyers. We are looking for a qualified individual to join the team as a Product Manager. This role will be an integral part not only to the day to day operations, but to the strategic growth of the company.
The Product Manager will be responsible for the following:
Sales:Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.Negotiate sales and purchase contracts including terms and conditions using both formal and informal bid processes.Coordinate inventory levels at the terminal facility, including vessel activity, as well as with other suppliers. Establish and maintain logistics contracts to ensure the timely movement of material.Supervise two customer service representatives who perform the day-to-day management of contracts including logistics.Maintain contact with customers, solving problems and situations as they arise. Keep current on market news and pricing, recognizing and developing business opportunities when they arise.
Partner with the General Manager and Controller in running operations as well to establish longer term goals and directions for the company.Be able to provide opinions and knowledge on issues outside of the day-to-day sales scope and assist in addressing bigger-picture matters.
Requirements are as follows:
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:Minimum 3 years previous sales, contract negotiation and business development experience in a similar or related industry.
